The benevolent guidance and vision of Missionary Marcia Erickson, known to the children as “Mama Meheret” (Amharic language for Mother of Mercy) lovingly created The Grace Centre for Children and Families in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, where the opportunity exists for a program that can change the lives of thousands of people.

This program is “GRACE,” an integrated, holistic approach to meeting the needs of a broad range of very underprivileged children. The Centre, like the whole program, is non-discriminatory. Children of all ethnic and religious backgrounds are accepted, based only upon the recognized need of the family.

“It has come to my attention that the dire need in Ethiopia is being addressed by a young woman they call ‘Mama Meheret’.
